GETTING TO THE ROOT BY SEARCHING FOR THE CAUSE

At Select Health Pain and Regenerative Solutions, we focus on identifying and correcting the root cause of your condition rather than offering a “Band-Aid” that temporarily relieves symptoms. We identify the root cause of your condition by performing necessary testing including lab work, imagining, and nerve studies. These tests provide us a full 360° view of your condition which allow us to treat you more effectively.

Labwork

WE OFFER THE FOLLOWING PREVENTATIVE LABWORK:

  • Complete Blood Count
  • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel
  • Complete Thyroid Panel
  • Hormone Panel
  • Immune Panel

CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT

There are a variety of conditions that can be identified by interpreting basic blood work results. Hormone changes, vitamin and protein deficiencies, thyroid problems, and excess cortisol (the stress hormone) can leave you feeling fatigued, achy, and moody. One or a combination of these imbalances can directly or indirectly be contributing to your chronic disease. Once identified, we can formulate a well-balanced treatment plan that targets the actual cause of your condition.

An immune panel is particularly useful in identifying sources of pain that are a direct response to infections or your body attacking its own tissues. Immune panels can identify immune deficiency issues such as a lack of antibodies that leave you susceptible to recurring or chronic infection. Immune panels can also identify autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, and Sjogren’s.

In the traditional medical model, too many patients are started on medication prematurely without determining the root cause of the condition. Subsequently, polypharmacy happens quickly as more medications are prescribed to treat side effects from the other medications.  Identifying how the condition may be treated without pharmaceuticals is the first consideration in our practice. Our bodies were created to do remarkable things if we provide them with the right nutrients and care.

INSOMNIA

Insomnia has become a serious health condition. Lack of sleep and lack of restorative sleep, negatively impacts our immune system, our mental focus, and our ability to heal. Once the sleep cycle has been disrupted for a significant amount of time, realigning the circadian rhythm can be challenging. Sleep therapy training is key to restoring our normal circadian rhythm and is done without sleep aids or addictive medications which can cause irreversible cognitive side effects.

Adequate sleep is essential for healing and wellness. If you are facing chronic pain or other serious health conditions, lack of poor sleep can exacerbate these symptoms and lead to further decline. Do not wait to treat insomnia. If you have difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep throughout the night, we can help you retrain your body to get the rest you need.

MENTAL HEALTH

Mental health and wellbeing plays a vital role in our overall health and wellness, yet is often overlooked in the traditional medical model. The lack of resources available to treat these conditions has led to the over-prescribing of medications which can exacerbate symptoms, causing severe complications.

Oftentimes, a mental health diagnosis is given without further investigation of the root cause and contributing factors. Assessing for the underlying cause more clearly identifies the most effective treatment plan and improves patient outcomes.

At Select Health Pain and Regenerative Solutions, we first work with our patients to get a clear picture of what may be contributing such as hormone imbalance, nutrient deficiencies, disturbed sleep, and relational stressors. Treating the underlying cause often lessens the amount of, or eliminates the need for pharmaceuticals to treat mental health conditions and protects patients from over-medication and unwanted side effects.

HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY

Hormone imbalance happens to both men and women and has significant impacts on our overall health. Hormones are one of the most important regulatory systems in the body. They function as messengers, interacting with specific target cells and organs to stimulate them into action. Testosterone is a common hormone that is often overlooked when assessing the overall health of a woman. However, as early as the age of 25, women start experiencing a significant drop in testosterone levels which can cause significant health risks. The same is true for men when they reach the age of 30.

Hormonal imbalance in women may present with the following:

  • Fatigue
  • Night sweats
  • Hot flashes
  • Decreased sex drive
  • Weight gain
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Irritability
  • Anxiousness
  • Mood swings
  • Low mood
  • Discomfort during intercourse

Hormonal imbalance in men may present with the following:

  •  Low sex drive
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of muscle mass
  • Increased body fat (especially around the waist)
  • Decrease bone mass
  • Mood changes
  • Low mood
  • Irritability
  • Brain fog
  • Elevated blood sugar
  • Stress
  • Anxiousness
  • High cholesterol

Traditional hormone replacement therapy consists of synthetic hormone preparations which increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, prostate cancer and breast cancer. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) has been studied extensively and has shown to have the opposite outcomes of synthetic hormone replacement therapy. BHRT can improve bone density, reduce the risk of prostate and breast cancer, lower cholesterol, promote weight loss, and reduce blood sugar.

Women experiencing pre-menopause and menopause often report the most bothersome symptoms during this stage as mood changes, weight gain, mental fog, decreased sex drive and irritability. Finally, there is a medical treatment that is safe and effective for treating all of these symptoms safely! Don’t waste another day dealing with these unpleasant symptoms. Let us help you get back to enjoying this stage of life too!

ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION

Sexual dysfunction affects over fifty percent of men and has a negative impact on the mental health, emotional health, physical health and relational health of men. Oftentimes erectile dysfunction is caused by other disease processes or medications and is difficult to treat, especially for those with comorbidities. However, there is safe and effective treatment for all men regardless of age and comorbidities that improves blood flow to the penis,  resulting in stronger erections. These treatments are non-surgical and do not require additional medication.
